Andrew Adewale ALOLA (PhD) earned a PhD degree in Economics from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Cyprus. Before that, Dr Andrew received MSc in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from EMU after completing his undergraduate studies from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. Dr Andrew joined the CREDS-Centre for Research on Sustainability and Digitalization of the Department of Business Administration, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences as Associate Professor on 01-October-2022. Earlier, he had joined the Department of Economics, University of Vaasa in Finland as an Assistant Professor on 01-September-2021. He was previously a full-time Faculty at Istanbul Gelisim University where he lectured in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs and later a Faculty at Nişantaşı University, both in Turkey. Also, Dr. Andrew is affiliated through research collaboration with South Ural State University (Russia) and the University of Johannesburg in South Africa.
Areas of expertise
Dr. Andrew's areas of interest are mainly in Sustainability with deep root in Energy and Environmental Economics, as well as other socioeconomic, sector-level, macroeconomic, and other evolving aspects within the global goal vis-à-vis the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Just a mention, Dr. Andrew's research coverage is not limited to the aspects of climate change, energy transition, material and resource efficiency and productivity, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability as it applies to country, in-country, and cross-country. Within the above-mentioned scope, he has published over 150 scientific studies in top tier international peer-reviewed journals that include Science of The Total Environment, Journal of cleaner production, International Journal of Energy Research, Energy Policy, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Sustainable Development, Current Issues in Tourism, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Land Use Policy among others. Since 2020, Dr. Andrew has been consistently named in the yearly Standard University's Top 2% Global Scientists list in the field of Energy and Environment.
