Background

Andrew Adewale ALOLA (PhD) earned a PhD degree in Economics and MSc in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, both from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Cyprus. Before that, he completed his undergraduate studies from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Dr Andrew joined CREDS-Centre for Research on Digitalization and Sustainability at Inland School of Business and Social Sciences, University of Inland Norway in 2022. Earlier, he worked at the Department of Economics, University of Vaasa in Finland as an Assistant Professor. He was previously a full-time Faculty at Istanbul Gelisim University where he lectured in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs and later at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, both in Turkey. Also, Dr. Andrew had research collaboration activities with University of Johannesburg (South Africa), South Ural State University (Russia), Lebanese American University (Lebanon), Applied Science University (Jordan), and on World Bank project with Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (nowJoseph Sarwuan Tarka University), Nigeria.

Areas of expertise

With the main research focus in 'sustainability' concept, Dr. Andrew is concern with the aspects of Energy and Environmental Economics, Sustainable Development, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), as it applies to economic levels within- and cross-country scope. Within this scope, he has published over 250 scientific studies in top tier international peer-reviewed journals that include Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Land Use Policy, Energy Economics, Science of The Total Environment, Journal of cleaner production, International Journal of Energy Research, Energy Policy, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Sustainable Development, and Current Issues in Tourism. Since 2020, Dr. Andrew has been consistently named in the yearly Standard University's Top 2% Global Scientists list in the field of Energy and Environment.
