Usama's current research focuses on the intersection of digital alignment and sustainability management in operations and supply chains. Usama's future research plans are to conceptualize paradoxes issues in corporate sustainability with emerging technologies (Industry 5.0 environment), as how firms in the process of transition of their circular business model innovation for sustainability in the product-service system and development strategy for the reverse logistics for a retracement and tracking of material and efficiently design digital circular supply chain, business model. An important component examines how technological choices, such as digital twin, quantum computing technologies, and additive manufacturing, could impact supply chain partners to develop sustainable innovation and support the strategic Management of the circular supply chain in addressing sustainable development goals (SDGs) 9 and 11.
