Application deadline

The following are the deadlines to submit your application:

  • Autumn semester and academic year: 01st of May.
  • Spring semester and full year: 15th of October.

We do not recommend applying earlier than 45 days before the deadline.

How to apply

Please read our guidelines in detail before submitting your application for an exchange. Below is an explanation of the application process.

1: Be nominated

Please contact your home university's exchange coordinator to determine your eligibility for exchange studies at the University of Inland Norway. Once we receive your nomination, an international coordinator at the relevant campus will provide you with detailed information on the application process. Please be aware that the information given may differ from campus to campus, but the process is the same.

Free movers

Nomination is not required for free movers. However, this option is limited for 2026/2027 and 2027 due to the tuition fee requirement for non-EU/EEA citizens applying as free movers. Only Campus Evenstad offers a programme that is open to free movers. Please contact us for further information. For other study programs, check out the webpage for our English full-degrees.

Nomination deadlines

Your home institution must nominate you before you can apply for exchange. Information on our nomination process has been sent to your home institution.

Exchange students must be nominated by:

  • 15 April for the autumn semester (August-December) or full academic year (August-June)
  • 01 October for the spring semester (January-June) or full year (January-December)

2: Check your course or programme options

View our course and programme overview and check your options. Courses and programs are held at specific campuses. Taking courses or programmes across campuses in the same semester is not possible.

Double degree students

If you are a student from Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), Switzerland, you might be eligible for the Double Degree programme at INN. The home institution is responsible for selecting the students who will participate in this programme. You can find more detailed information on our webpages for the Double Degree programme.
