Inland University Library has locations on every campus. Here, you’ll find all the information you need as you begin using the library.
Your user account
The first thing you should do is activate your user account.
The student account consists of your student number and password. Your account is linked to Feide. Some services require login via Feide. Remember to select University of Inland Norway as your affiliation.
Your user account allows you to:
- access the wireless network Eduroam
- access the learning platform Canvas (access to course literature)
- use the library's stationary PCs
- access online library resources from home
- download and use Microsoft 365
- book study rooms
Your student card is your library card
The next step is to order your student card. You can start using your student card as a library card the day after you receive it. You are automatically registered as a library patron. With your student card, you can borrow and return books at all six of our libraries. The digital student ID also works as a library card.
The physical student card can be used as:
- A key card to print/scan/copy documents at printers
- An entrance card to the campus

Find and borrow course literature
Students are expected to obtain their own course literature. The library has only a few copies of the required textbooks. Books placed on special course shelves or marked with red tape are for in-library use only. A limited number of copies are also available for borrowing. The loan period is 30 days. There is a high demand for curriculum books, so it can be worthwhile to be early!
To find out if the course book is available and where it is placed on the shelf, use the reading list in your course room in Canvas.
Borrow books
At the library you will also find many other textbooks for your studies. You can search for books using the Oria search engine. The Oria search bar is located at the top of the library’s website. There you can see which library has a copy and where it is located. If a book is currently on loan, you can choose to be on a waiting list.
Access after opening hours
Before and after staffed opening hours you may access the library premises using your student ID card and pin code. The ID card and code gives access to the library seven days a week from 07.00-22.00!
