Semester registration, semester fee and education plan
All students must register for each semester. Semester registration consists of both a confirmation of the education plan and payment of the semester fee.
Why do you need to register for the semester?
A completed semester registration is a prerequisite for:
- being registered as an active student
- get a loan from the Lånekassen
- gaining access to the university's ICT-services (including Studentweb and Canvas)
- getting to take the exam
- having the right to vote in elections to the university's and students' governing bodies
- gaining access to library services and to the community's welfare services

New student this semester?
If you have been admitted to studies for the autumn of 2026, you will receive an email with information about semester registration and the semester fee. Emails will be sent out starting July 16th.
It is not possible to register for the semester before you have received the email.

Insurance for students
Students at state universities and colleges are not insured through their educational institutions. If you as a students are to have adequate coverage if you are exposed to damage, you must take out your own private insurance.
