About the Programme

The Bachelor in Game Technology combines artistic innovation with advanced programming to prepare you for a future in game development, simulation, and interactive digital solutions.

You will learn how to design and build powerful game engines, visual systems, and interactive applications – the same skills used in everything from entertainment to simulation, visualisation, and AI-driven industries.

Choose your path

In your second year, you will specialise in one of two exciting tracks:

  • Game Programming: focus on advanced programming, engine development, game mechanics, databases, and networking
  • Computer Graphics: focus on 3D programming, shaders, visualisation, simulation, and mathematics for modern game engines

Hands-on experience

From your first semester, you will work on creative and technical projects in teams – just like in the industry.

By your final year, you can choose between an internship in a company, a research project, or entrepreneurship, finishing with a bachelor project that brings together programmers, artists, and designers to make something truly original.

Curricula and courses

In the study plan, you will find information about the programme, including an overview of courses, learning objectives, and assessment methods. Choose the study plan for the year you will start the programme to find information relevant to you.

What can I be

You will be qualified for a wide range of exciting careers – not only in the games industry, but also in sectors that rely on simulation, visualisation, and interactive technology.

Graduates are in demand wherever creativity meets computing – from entertainment and education to engineering and artificial intelligence. Game Technology graduates are creative problem-solvers who understand both code and creativity.

Student stories

  • Studying in Hamar is "supermakkelijk"

Flo den Haan and Jonas Valstar are both INN University students from the Netherlands. Why did they move 1000 kilometers away to study game development in Norway?

  • Specialising in virtual reality

As a student specialising in VR and AR at the Game School in Hamar, Aedan Soellaart has discovered a world of possibilities in games and technology. Not only does it qualify you to become a game developer or digital artist, it also opens doors to sectors like healtcare and machine industry.
