The University of Inland Norway has, over many years, developed substantial expertise in innovation in public service delivery and is today Norway’s leading research environment in public sector innovation. In 2018, Innlandet County Authority contributed to the establishment of the Competence Centre for Public Innovation (KOI). The intention was to build a bridge between academic competence and practical application by offering municipalities, county authorities, and national agencies professional support to realise their innovation needs.
KOI contributes to research projects in collaboration with municipalities that wish to initiate their own innovation projects.
We understand the research frontier, methods, and theories, while the public sector itself knows best where the challenges and competence needs lie. Together, we create strong innovation projects.
KOI facilitates processes
KOI facilitates processes in both small and large groups, in meetings and seminars, and in projects where more structured processes are required. We conduct workshops, creative labs, planning labs, and scenario labs.
KOI offers continuing education with varied and creative learning methods
We also offer further education for managers and employees who wish to take an active role in change processes in the municipalities of the future. The programmes are based on learning sessions and emphasise varied and creative working methods. They take real challenges as their starting point, with practice-oriented issues that participants encounter in their daily work. The programmes are available to individual participants or groups and can also be tailored for a single municipality or collaborating municipalities.
