Short description

My research mainly focuses on investigating the ecology and behavior of mammals with the ultimate goal to find solutions for improved wildlife management and conservation, but I am also interested in evolution and host-parasite interactions.

I conducted my PhD on the behavioral ecology of beavers in Norway, where I studied life history strategies and territoriality of these fascinating ecosystem engineers. I have a varied background in ecology, ranging from behavioral and movement ecology over invasive species to human-wildlife conflicts, having worked with a range of terrestrial vertebrate taxa, such as cane toads, poison frogs, keelback snakes, various birds, hares, deer, and beavers.

Currently, I work on projects evaluating the use of drones for monitoring moose, investigating interspecific interactions among beavers and other mammals, and quantifying patterns of livestock depredation by large carnivores.
