Short description
Doctoral student with the CarniForeGraze project at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN), Evenstad.
Laura completed her master's thesis within the Grensevilt project at INN, which was about moose behavioral responses to close proximity with wolves in Scandinavia. She has worked extensively in the field, with tracking and captures of small and large mammals (squirrels, bank voles, wolves, bears), ungulate pellet counts and wolf predation studies. Additionally, Laura has laboratory experience (isotope analysis). Laura's PhD will investigate how wolf and bear presence affects free range cattle behavior and physiology, through the use of GPS, accelerometry, and biosensor data.
Her research interests lie within the fields of human/carnivore conflicts, wildlife/carnivore conservation, carnivore ecology and social behavior, as well as science popularization.
