Short description
I am an associate professor of economic history at the study programme for International Studies at the University of Inland, Norway. My ph.d. in economic -political history is from the University of Oslo from 2014 and I have a master's degree in history from the same institution in 2009.
Previously I have worked at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies, where I taught courses on total defence and societal security. I have worked on research projects covering Norwegian monetary policy, defence policy, and lately I have been occupied with Norwegian and international security policy seen through the lense of small states' total defence. In the later years, I have also done research on small states and small state cooperation in the first half of the 20th century, seen through the Scandinavian Monetary Union and the Oslo States.
My research interests include international relations, security policy, small state cooperation, civil-military relations, total defence, economic policy, economic preparedness, political history and monetary unions.
At the University of Inland I teach the introductory course in international studies and history and a course in international history covering the years 1914 to 1989 for the first-year students, as well as a new course in international and Norwegian security policy for the second-year students.
