The summer is officially over and the school year has kicked off. Last week's happenings were the buddy week and INNstart, and a new week of lectures and course kick-off is on the horizon.

The buddy week and INNstart helped lay the foundation for the upcoming semester, and we hope you've had a memorable buddy week with new relationships and acquaintances.

As a new student, there's a lot to get acquainted with. Everything from the semester fee to finding various classrooms and auditoriums, and where to buy the cheapest textbooks. Perhaps one of the biggest questions is finding your place as a student and something to participate in. There are many activities and groups you can join at and through the University, and the Student's Union is one of them.

We in the Student's Union are the organization that works for students, our rights and to make student life as good as possible. We are the ones who hold student council meetings with all class representatives and bring issues that are important to students to the University.

We encourage all students to take part in the various offerings at the school, and feel free to engage in the student council and as a class representative! It's us students who know best what it's like to be a student, and it's we who must set the requirements for how to have the best possible student life.

We hope last week answered many of the questions you have, but fear not if you didn't catch everything, things will come gradually. You don't need to have control of everything at the start.

Again, welcome to Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and welcome as a student!
