Emma Brumoen

Physical Education and Sports Sciences, master – Elverum
Hi! My name is Emma, and I’m 21 years old. I’m running as a student representative in The University Board at INN because I care about how the University of Inland Norway (INN) is governed, and how the decisions made at the highest level actually affect students’ everyday lives. I’m not afraid to speak up when something doesn’t feel right, and I have experience standing up for my opinions – even in cases where you really have to dig into complex issues. For me, this role is both interesting and meaningful, and I’m motivated to do the work that’s needed in preparation for the meetings.
I’m already involved in student volunteering at INN through my role as Local Executive Committee Leader in Elverum, which has given me a close connection to the student community and the challenges many students face. Through this work, I’ve learned how important it is to listen, collaborate, and communicate students’ perspectives in a clear and responsible way.
In The University Board at INN, I want to be an accessible and reliable representative who truly takes students’ voices seriously, and who helps ensure good dialogue with both The Presidium and The Student Parliament in StInn.
Ingrid Rhiannon Donovan

Philosophy, Politics and Economics, bachelor – Lillehammer
Hi! My name is Ingrid Rhiannon Donovan, and I’m doing a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the campus in Lillehammer. I’m running as a student representative because I want to be a clear and reliable voice for us students where the most important decisions are made.
The university is going through a period of change, with both opportunities and challenges. That’s exactly why it’s important that students’ perspectives are highlighted, not only in individual cases, but in all processes that affect our everyday study life. I want to help make sure our needs are taken seriously, whether it’s about teaching quality, the learning environment or student welfare.
I’m engaged, solution-oriented, and I care about listening to different experiences and points of view. At the same time, I’m not afraid to set demands and speak up when needed. I want to contribute to a university that takes its students seriously and makes it possible to have the best study experience we can.
Thomas Elnes

Applied Ecology, bachelor – Evenstad
Why should you choose a soon 40-year-old man to represent students on the board? Let me tell you. I have many years of experience from sales, the last 12 years in retail, and I’ve met a lot of different people with just as many different needs. Now I’ve chosen to retrain so I can work with what’s closest to my heart: nature.
Now I want to represent you as a fellow student. I have solid experience from formal meetings, I always prepare in advance, and I want your input on the issues you think should be raised. I’ve never been afraid to say what I think, and I’ll keep doing that in this role as well.
So if you want a down-to-earth, approachable and present representative for the students on the board, I’d really appreciate your vote. Together we can make sure the students’ voice is heard in the highest decision-making bodies.
Jacob Five-Kristiansen

Law, bachelor – Lillehammer
Dear fellow students,
My name is Jacob Five-Kristiansen, I’m 22 years old, and I’m running as a student representative in The University Board at INN. I want to be a clear voice for us students where the real decisions are made, and help make sure that our perspectives are not just heard, but actually given weight.
The university’s resources should benefit students more directly, whether it’s about teaching quality, mental health support, student welfare, or the learning environment. At the same time, it’s important to me that lecturers have good enough conditions to deliver high-quality teaching, since this directly affects what we get out of our studies.
I also want to work for more transparency and real student participation in the processes that affect us. We, as students, need to be involved in shaping a university that prioritises both academic quality and, just as importantly, a safe and inclusive study environment.
I hope for your trust, and in return I’ll work to be a clear and responsible voice for students on the board.
Jade Hauan

Business Administration, bachelor – Lillehammer
Hi! My name is Jade, and I’m running for The University Board at INN because I believe one thing needs to be much clearer than it is today: students shouldn’t be an afterthought; we should be part of the decision-making as a matter of course.
I have a long list of leadership experience at local, regional and national level. But more important than the titles is what I’ve actually done as a student. I’ve spoken up in rooms where students were missing. I’ve brought the student perspective into meetings, conferences and public debates, not because someone asked me to, but because it was needed. I’ve pointed out the same thing again and again: involvement can’t depend on individual students who “push their way in”.
For me, student representation isn’t about speaking for one group, but about understanding the whole picture. Students are not one voice, we’re many. And everyone deserves to be seen and taken seriously.
I’m not running because I have to. I’m running because I care. And because I know that students deserve a clear, fearless and action-oriented voice on the board.
Aros Jamal-Salim

Law, bachelor – Lillehammer
I’m running as a student representative in The University Board at INN because the decisions made there have a big impact on our everyday life at INN, even if many of us might not think about it.
I believe it’s important that financial priorities actually benefit us as students, like maintaining good and varied teaching options and ensuring proper follow-up in the study programs. Becoming a university means higher demands on the quality of our education, both from an academic perspective and from a student perspective. This doesn’t happen on its own, and that’s why it’s important that students have a clear voice in this work – which I believe I can provide.
I want to help make sure that students’ perspectives are brought forward in The University Board, and that our interests are taken care of in the matters that really affect us and our daily study life.
Joachim Johannessen

Lecturer in Language Studies, master – Hamar
My name is Joachim Johannessen, I’m 25 years old and in my fifth year of the lecturer programme at the Department of Education and Pedagogy, and I plan to continue studying at the University of Inland Norway (INN). I’m an engaged, motivated and ambitious student who’s passionate about what’s best for students. Others would describe me as hardworking, goal-oriented, skilled, and as someone who really goes the extra mile for students.
For me, student democracy and good student representation are important to make sure students get the best possible everyday study life. During my almost five years at the university and my time in Inland Norway Students’ Union (StInn), I’ve learned and experienced a lot about how INN works – and how it doesn’t. I’ve also seen what really matters to students, and what’s actually needed to make it better to be a student here at INN.
I’m running for The University Board at INN because I believe my experience, knowledge and willingness to ask the critical questions will benefit students. I’ve served on the boards in StInn, Inland Norway Student Society (StudINN) and The Student Association of Innlandet (SINN), and through strong arguments and by addressing the right issues, I’ve managed to influence many important matters.
After seeing the strategies that are being developed at INN, I can see that there is a real need for student representatives who are willing to stand firm in the tough fight to make sure students come first. With me, that’s exactly the kind of representative you’ll get: a strong and clear voice for all of you who study at our university.
Mari Kristoffersen

Special Needs Education, bachelor – Lillehammer
My name is Mari Kristoffersen. I’m 20 years old and I study Special Needs Education at the campus in Lillehammer. Throughout my time at the University of Inland Norway (INN), I’ve been active in student democracy. I’ve been a class representative, a delegate to The National Union of Students in Norway (NSO)’s national meeting, a Student Parliament Delegate, and a student representative in the committee for the Merited Teacher and the Teaching Quality Award.
Right now, I’m in my second term as a member of the Faculty Council, while also serving as Welfare and Learning Environment Policy Officer of the Executive Committee (AU) in Inland Norway Students’ Union (StInn), chair of the central Learning Environment Committee (LMU), and a student representative in the Diversity and Equality Committee.
Through these roles, I’ve built up broad knowledge about the university and a strong commitment to improving students’ everyday study life. As a student politician, I’ve been involved in discussions about what changes are needed to strengthen students’ daily life, how we can create vibrant campuses, and how the study programmes at INN can be further developed.
I want to be a clear voice for students, and I believe I can play an important role in The University Board at INN by bringing forward the student perspective. I have both broad and varied experience from my work in StInn and at INN, and I’m used to making assessments, taking decisions, preparing thoroughly, reading agenda documents and working together with other representatives.
Ida Skoglund

Law, bachelor – Lillehammer
Dear fellow students,
I’m running in this election to make sure students’ wishes are taken seriously where important decisions are made. I believe our everyday study life should be developed much more based on students’ own experiences, needs and ideas – that’s how we, together, create a university with high academic quality and a good learning environment.
As your student representative, I’ll work for an inclusive learning environment, high quality in education, and studies that prepare us well for working life. For me, it’s especially important that students’ perspectives are a clear part of the basis for decisions when resources are being prioritised for the future.
I want to be a representative who’s available for students, who listens, and who brings your input into the decision-making processes. Vote for me – for a better student life and an even better university!
Elias Stokkan

One-year programme or possible master’s from next academic year – Hamar
As a candidate for the University Board at INN, I want to be a clear and committed voice for those of you studying Early Childhood Education and Care. I know how important this programme is – both for you as students and for society as a whole.
I’ve completed the Early Childhood Teacher Education myself, so I know what it’s like to face both the academic challenges and the practical demands that come with the programme. Today I work in a kindergarten, while also taking a guidance/mentor education at the University of Inland Norway (INN). This gives me a unique insight into both everyday student life and the profession you’re heading into.
I’m still just as passionate about the early childhood teaching profession and about securing a high-quality education. I want to work for all students – but especially to highlight the perspectives of those of you who are taking Early Childhood Teacher Education. I know how important it is that your experiences, needs and opinions are heard when decisions are made.
If you want a candidate who understands your study life, who knows the profession you’re training for, and who can speak clearly on behalf of early childhood education students, I hope you’ll give me your vote.
Election process
How to vote
You can cast your vote at https://valg.inn.no. The solution also works well on mobile phones and tablets. The election is carried out as a preferential voting system. In short, this means that you rank the candidates, and you can remove any candidates you don’t want to rank or vote for. When the votes are counted, the process basically works like this: if your first-choice candidate isn’t elected, your vote is transferred to the next candidate on your ballot. You can only vote once.
Voting rights for students
A student who has paid the semester fee, confirmed their education plan and/or registered as a student at the University of Inland Norway (INN) in the semester when the election is held has the right to vote.
Prize draw
All students who vote in the ballot election are entered into a draw for a Universal gift card worth 500 NOK. After the ballot is closed, one random voter will be drawn as the winner and will receive the gift card. The winner will be announced in the same article as the election result.
Electoral register
Any requests for access to the electoral register must be sent to the secretary of the Election Committee at gunn.holme@inn.no.
Complaints about the electoral register are decided by the Election Committee. Any complaints are processed on an ongoing basis, and must be submitted to the Election Committee no later than one week after the election result has been made public.
Election results
The election is checked by the Election Committee and will be published as soon as possible after the voting deadline has expired.
