We also approved our Annual Plan at this meeting. This document is crucial as it sets the course for what we will do further in the term. Just before this, however, we did something even more important, which was to vote in two new members to our small but large family! We now have two new members of the Control and Constitution Committee. We warmly welcome Ioana-Louise Florea and Daniel Lincoln to the StInn family! We're now moving purposefully ahead in the term, as we've set clear directions for exactly what we're going to do.
New Flagship Issues
The most important thing we did at the Student Parliament was to adopt flagship issues! These are based on our adopted politics and are as follows:
International Politics:
All students should have equal opportunities to acquire information about teaching, events, and situations at HINN. Both HINN, SINN, and student volunteers should increase available information and publications in English, to contribute to increased inclusion for the entire student body at HINN.
Academics and Research:
StInn believes that feedback on work requirements and upon requested grading of exams, the reasoning for the grade should be of such quality that it's easy for the student to understand where they stand academically, the potential for improvement, and whether they are on the brink of moving up or down in grade upon possible complaint. KI should not be used to present feedback.
Welfare and Learning Environment:
The campuses of HINN should be facilitated so that all students should have the desire and opportunity to stay there, whether they participate in teaching, study on their own, are social, or want to spend time alone. This can also include access to one or more rooms at the campuses that can be used for prayer, breastfeeding, mental charging, or silence among other things.
We will actively work on these issues throughout the coming year, and achieve results! This is a direct order from you students through your delegates.
Principle Program
At this meeting, we also had a good discussion on our principle program. This document is meant to be a supporting pillar for us elected officials in StInn when we get questions about something we have not adopted politics on. At the same time, it will be useful for all you students to understand exactly what kind of organization StInn is, and exactly what our principles are!
That's all for this time, and we're really looking forward to working for all your students' interests! If you want a change, let us know, and we'll do our best to get that change implemented!
