Become a Student Parliament delegate for your campus!

The Student Parliament is the most important arena we have for student participation. This is where we, the students, meet to discuss policy, elect our representatives, and (just as important) get to know each other across the different campuses!

The Student Parliament is the highest body of Inland Norway Students’ Union (StInn), and they meet once every semester. Representatives from all campuses come together here, and right now we’re looking for new delegates! Are you the one we’re looking for? Then you need to put yourself forward by Wednesday September 9th!

At the Student Parliament, we process policy, strategies, declarations, elections to central bodies, and similar matters. In short: this is where we decide what StInn should stand for and work on.

As a delegate at the Student Parliament, you get a solid insight into student politics, you meet lots of new people, and most importantly, you gain valuable experience you can take with you further in your studies and career.

Practical information

As long as you’ve paid the semester fee, confirmed your education plan and/or registered as a student for the autumn semester 2026, you can run in the election. It’s the students themselves who vote for their representatives, and this happens in the ballot election, taking place from Monday September 14th at 00:00 until Monday September 21st at 23:59.

The autumn meeting is held over two days, while the spring meeting lasts for three days. StInn covers travel and hotel accommodation for all delegates, as well as food and drinks.

The meetings usually start with the different bodies giving updates about their work in the previous period and their plans going forward. After that, there’s room for discussion and then processing of submitted agenda items. Typical items in the Student Parliament might be what we should prioritize, what students think about exams, teaching or the student environment, and elections to the central positions.

The meetings will mostly be held in Norwegian, so it's recommended to be comfortable enough to understand the language to keep up. Your own statements can be given in English without problems.

This academic year’s Student Parliament meetings are planned for October 23rd - 24th and April 9th - 11th, both in Gjøvik.

There will also be a training session for delegates on September 30th in Elverum, before the first Student Parliament meeting.

As mentioned, the Student Parliament consists of delegates from all campuses, and the representatives are distributed based on campus size. This year’s distribution is as follows:

  • Lillehammer: 9 main + 9 deputy
  • Rena: 5 main + 5 deputy
  • Hamar: 5 main + 5 deputy
  • Elverum: 5 main + 5 deputy
  • Blæstad: 2 main + 2 deputy
  • Evenstad: 1 main + 1 deputy

Fill out this candidate form by September 9th to run in the election!
