The Student Parliament is the most important arena we have for student participation. Here we, the students, meet to discuss politics, elect our representatives, and not least get to know each other across the campuses!

The Student Parliament is the highest body of the Inland Norway Student's Union, and they meet once a semester. Here, representatives from all campuses meet, and we are now looking for new delegates!

At the Student Parliament, politics, strategies, resolutions, election of central bodies and the like are addressed. Simply put, what StInn should believe in and work on. As a delegate at the Student Parliament, you gain a good insight into student politics, meet many new people and, not least, accumulate new experiences.

It is the students themselves who vote for their representatives, and this happens in the ballot box election that takes place from Monday, September 16 at 00:00 to Monday, September 23 at 23:59!

Practical information

As long as you have paid the semester fee, confirmed the education plan and/or registered as a student for the autumn semester 2024, you can stand for election.

The autumn meeting takes place over two days, while the spring meeting takes place over three days. StInn covers travel and hotel accommodation for all delegates, in addition to food and drink. The meetings usually start with the different bodies informing about the work during the last period and the plans ahead, before opening for discussions and then submitted cases. Some typical cases for the Student Parliament may be what we should prioritize, what students think about exams, teaching or the student environment, and election of the central positions.

The Student Parliament meeting this academic year is planned to be held October 18-19 and April 4-6 in Gjøvik.

The delegats will also get a day of training in Hamar a few days before the first meeting. The date will be announced soon.

The Student Parliament consists, as mentioned, of delegates from all campuses, and the representatives are distributed based on the size of the campus. This year's distribution is as follows:
•    Lillehammer: 9 main + 9 deputies
•    Rena: 5 main + 5 deputies
•    Hamar: 5 main + 5 deputies
•    Elverum: 4 main + 4 deputies
•    Blæstad: 2 main + 2 deputies
•    Evenstad: 2 main + 2 deputies
