I would like to start my corner by highlighting the incredible New Year's banquet that my committee and I organized. We kicked off the year with a fantastic New Year's banquet at Blæstad, arranged by the Organizational Committee (OU). The event was a great success with 35 enthusiastic StInn members participating. Everyone had a great time, and it was fun to see what Blæstad has to offer. This event provided us with a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our unity and motivation for the upcoming year.

Political Work in the Coming Semester

StInn enters 2025 with great enthusiasm and clear goals for the year. We have three main issues that we will focus on: academics and research policy, welfare and learning environment policy, and international policy. The Executive Committee is highly motivated to work as effectively as possible on these main issues during this period.

Academics and Research Policy: StInn believes that feedback on coursework and passing exam grading should be of such quality that it is easy for the student to understand their academic standing, areas for improvement, and whether they are on the verge of moving up or down a grade in the event of an appeal. Artificial intelligence should not be used to generate feedback.

Welfare and Learning Environment Policy: The campuses of University of Inland Norway (INN) should be adapted so that all students have the desire and opportunity to spend time there, whether they are attending classes, studying independently, socializing, or wanting to spend time alone. This may also include access to one or more rooms on campus that can be used for purposes such as prayer, nursing, mental recharge, or silence.

International Policy: All students should have equal opportunities to access information about teaching, events, and situations at INN. Both INN, SINN, and student volunteers should increase the availability of information and publications in English to contribute to greater inclusion for the entire student body at INN.

Other Projects Going Forward

We also look forward to continuing successes like the Christmas calendar and collaborating with INN, StudINN, and SINN to create an even better student environment. Other exciting tasks ahead include following up on the quality work with INN, as NOKUT will be inspecting, and engaging in new projects like eMERGE.

In the new year, StInn will also work on developing a principle program for the organization. This will help us expand our political foundation so that we can influence important issues within new and exciting topics.
