The Student Parliament is the highest governing body of the Inland Norway Students’ Union (StInn), and it meets once per semester.
Here, representatives from all campuses come together, and now we're looking for new delegates! Are you the one we're searching for?
At the Student Parliament, topics such as policies, strategies, resolutions, and the election of central bodies are addressed. In short, it’s where decisions are made about what StInn should stand for and work on. As a delegate at the Student Parliament, you’ll gain valuable insight into student politics, meet many new people, and, most importantly, build new skills and experiences.
Delegates are elected by the students themselves, and this happens during the ballot election taking place from Monday, September 15 at 00:00 to Monday, September 22 at 23:59!
Practical Information
As long as you’ve paid the semester fee, confirmed your study plan, and/or registered as a student for the fall semester 2025, you’re eligible to run for election.
The fall meeting spans two days, while the spring meeting lasts three days. StInn covers travel, hotel accommodations, as well as food and drinks for all delegates. Meetings typically begin with updates from the various bodies on their recent work and future plans. This is followed by discussions and submitted agenda items. Common topics at the Student Parliament include setting priorities, addressing student opinions on exams, teaching, or the student environment, and electing people to central roles.
This academic year’s Student Parliament meetings are planned for October 17–18 in Hamar and April 17–19 in Gjøvik.
There will also be training for delegates in Hamar on October 1st, before the first Student Parliament meeting.
As mentioned, the Student Parliament is made up of delegates from all campuses, with representation distributed based on the size of each campus. This year’s allocations are as follows:
- Lillehammer: 9 main + 9 deputies
- Rena: 5 main + 5 deputies
- Hamar: 5 main + 5 deputies
- Elverum: 5 main + 5 deputies
- Blæstad: 2 main + 2 deputies
