Running as a candidate can feel a bit scary. To make the process easier and more predictable for those who are willing to put themselves forward for StInn, we offer a resource person to everyone who runs for election at the Student Parliament meetings.
StInn’s Election Counselor is a former elected representative in StInn who knows the election process in the Student Parliament well enough to be a useful source of information for candidates. An Election Counselor can, among other things, help with:
- Giving feedback on the candidate form
- Giving advice on how to prepare for and go through an interview
- Giving feedback on the script for your election speech
- Answering questions about how the election process works
- Being moral support during the Student Parliament meeting
- Looking after the candidate if the meeting is closed while the election is being handled
- Being available for a debrief for up to a week after the election is finished
The Election Counselor doesn’t have any other role in StInn, so they’re not involved in the election process beyond helping the candidates who ask for support. They won’t have the right to vote in the election, be part of the recommendation process, or run as a candidate themselves. And since they’re not active in StInn anymore, they don’t have a personal interest in who gets elected to which position.
For the academic year 25/26, the Election Counselor is Malin Våg Vorum, who has previously been the Presidium Leader.
