In the article "Fostering togetherness in superdiverse Catholic parishes", FAITHED researchers Marta Bivand Erdal and Marianne Friisberg Larssen ask how catechetical instruction contributes towards fostering togetherness in a social context characterized by what the social scientist Stephen Vertovec has termed "super-diversity". What happens when people with many different linguistic and cultural backgrounds are "thrown together" in the same place? The article builds on data collected from four Catholic parishes in different parts of Norway. It is published in Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.

Marta Bivand Erdal is a human geographer and a research professor of migration studies at PRIO Peace Research Institute Oslo. Marianne Friisberg Larssen has been a research assistant both at PRIO and at Inland Norway University. She is now a PhD candidate in Religious studies at the University of Oslo.
