Below, you will find an overview of whom you can contact.
Your team of supervisors
Your supervisors are responsible for following up with the PhD candidate and ensuring that the candidate actively participates in the research environment. Your main supervisor is your primary contact and support. Co-supervisors can also assist in resolving issues. If the candidate and the supervisor feel that the relationship is not functioning well, they can, individually or together, involve a third party to find a solution.
Your line manager
Your line manager can assist you with matters that have not been resolved by the advisory team. Your manager aims to foster a collaborative culture through openness and involvement and ensures genuine participation in matters concerning the working environment and conditions. Your personnel manager takes responsibility in decision-making processes and may involve both employees and union representatives to ensure the legitimacy of the decisions.
Your PhD team
Your PhD supervisor and the PhD coordinator are available for confidential discussions. The PhD supervisor has academic responsibility for your PhD project and will ensure that you receive the necessary training to complete your degree. The PhD supervisor monitors the candidate's progress and is available for dialogue to ensure that the programme is completed on time. You may also contact the PhD coordinator if you simply wish to have a talk. The coordinator has a good overview of the organisational structure and can assist in answering your questions.
Your HR advicor
The HR Adviser at your workplace can assist you with questions regarding sick leave or personnel-related matters. If you are employed at INN, you can find contact information on the website for your faculty/department.
Workers' health and safety representative
The health and safety representative safeguards employees' interests related to the working environment, including both physical and psychosocial aspects. The safety representative can highlight issues that may lead to dissatisfaction, stress or bullying and propose improvement measures. You can raise any matter confidentially with the safety representative at your faculty.
Student representative
The student representatives on your PhD programme are a spokesperson for the interests of PhD candidates by contributing to the quality assurance of INN's PhD programmes. You can contact them if you wish to propose improvements to the programme or its academic quality.
Occupational Health Services (OHS)
The OHS can provide advice and guidance for employees who are in challenging situations at work. All employees, including PhD candidates, can contact the occupational health service. The occupational health service is a preventive service and does not provide treatment but can potentially assist you in finding appropriate help. You do not need to coordinate with your immediate supervisor for the first appointment, but further contact with the occupational health service is arranged through your immediate supervisor. Up to 3-5 hours are provided. The occupational health service can, among other things, assist with follow-up during sickness absence or provide guidance and conversations related to your own employment situation.
