Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is an exchange programme for those who wish to spend a period in an EU or EEA country as part of their education.

Destinations
As a student in most study programmes at INN, you can travel to one of our partner institutions in EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Turkey.
Erasmus+ students are exempt from paying tuition fees at the host institution and will have the opportunity to receive an Erasmus+ grant in addition to support from Lånekassen (if you qualify for this).

Important information for all students applying for Erasmus+ grant at INN
Each year, INN is allocated an overall budget for mobility within the Erasmus+ programme. The size of this allocation varies from year to year, and due to the increasing interest in the Erasmus+ grant among our students, we cannot guarantee that we will have sufficient funds for all applicants.
All INN students who travel under Erasmus+ agreements and meet the deadlines and documentation requirements will receive an Erasmus+ grant. However, we cannot guarantee in advance how many months of Erasmus+ funding outgoing students will receive.
Sustainability and inclusion in the Erasmus+ program
The Erasmus+ program places significant emphasis on traveling in an environmentally friendly manner and including as many students as possible, regardless of their life circumstances. In this regard, students who travel green or belong to a specific underrepresented group can apply for additional Erasmus grants. Below is a brief explanation, and you can contact the international office at your campus for further information if needed.
Green Travel
By travelling in an environmentally friendly way, you may receive an additional grant (a one-time payment depending on distance), plus up to six travel days covered by the grant. To be eligible, you must provide documentation that over 50% of your journey (measured in kilometres) consists of environmentally friendly transport such as buses or trains.
Students with Fewer Opportunities
Students from underrepresented groups (students with fewer opportunities) are entitled to an additional grant of €250 per month. This applies to students in the following categories:
- Students with permanent disabilities and chronic illnesses: 'Persons with disabilities include those with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments, which, in interaction with various barriers, may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.' (From the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - fn.no)
- Students with refugee status
- Students with children or caregiving responsibilities for persons under 18 years of age (regardless of whether the child accompanies them during mobility or not.
- Students belonging to Indigenous peoples and national minorities: This includes students with connections to Indigenous groups (the Sámi people) or national minorities (Jews, Kvens/Norwegian Finns, Roma/Tatars, Forest Finns, and Romani people).
Documentation Requirement
To receive the additional grant for green travel and for students from underrepresented groups, students must sign a "Declaration on Honour" confirming that they qualify for green travel or belong to the category of 'students with fewer opportunities'.
