Home exams/submission in Inspera can be both individual and in groups. If an exam is marked as "Group" in Inspera, all students must be members of a group to be allowed to open the exam and have the exam delivered. In a group exam, it will be sufficient for one of the group members to upload/deliver the exam answers on behalf of the entire group. Note that an exam can only be opened by one group member at a time.
At our university college, two different types of group submission are used
Pre-defined groups: These are groups that have been predefined by the study administration at the faculty or subject manager.
Candidate-controlled groups (both with and without password): These are groups that students organize themselves, and all group members must actively join a group in order to deliver. Candidate-managed groups always have a GroupID which is a self-selected four-digit PIN code (not the same as the individual members' candidate number).
On a home exam/submission where it is possible to deliver both individually and in groups, you who are to deliver individually must also create a group/be a member of a group. Remember that you are only a member of a candidate-led group if you:
- Either created the group themselves and possibly invited others in with a four-digit PIN code (and possibly password).
- Or logged in with a four-digit PIN code (and possibly password) in an already created group.
How to create and be member of a candidate-controlled group in Inspera?
- Log in to Inspera
-
Go to "Upcoming tests" and find the current exam. Here you will see whether you are a member of a group or not. Then click on "Click here to get ready".
-
If you are not a member of a group, you will now be told that you must register for a group. You can choose between "Join existing group" or "Create a new group".
-Join existing group: Enter the PIN code and any password for the group that you have been given by the person who created the group and click on "Join the group".
-Create a new group: Enter your chosen PIN code (minimum four digits) and click on "Create group". The PIN code and any available password for the group must be shared with other group members. -
When you have become a member of a group and the exam has started, you can click on the button "Open the test".
If you have become a member of the wrong group, it is possible to leave the group. You can then choose to create a new group or become a member of another group.
