At the exam

Here are some advices on how to complete the actual exam in Inspera.

How to find exams in Inspera

Log in to Inspera

Go to "Upcoming tests" and click on "Start test" on the exam in question. An exam/test in Inspera will be marked as "Individual" or "Group". Read more about group exams on this website.

When the exam starts, you can click on the button "Open the test".

When you have opened the test in Inspera, you will see the remaining time on the exam and candidate number in the top left corner of the screen. The time includes any additional time and indicates when the exam closes (and it will be no longer possible to deliver). At the top right of the screen, you have access to a menu (three lines) where you can change the language and text size, among other things.

If you are taking the exam abroad, please be aware of any time zone differences.

File upload

Remove personal information from a file

For a home exam/submission, you should usually use a candidate number instead of your own name to ensure anonymity in front of the examiner. In such cases, you should remove personal information from files before they are converted to another format and uploaded into Inspera.

Procedure for removing personal information from files

File format and file name

In the case of a home exam/submission with file upload, it will normally only be possible to upload/deliver one PDF file. In some cases, other file formats will be used. Information about permitted file formats will always be available in Inspera for the exam in question.

It is important that you, as a student, know how to convert files to PDF format, so that you avoid uploading a damaged/invalid file in Inspera that is unreadable by the examiner.

In addition to removing personal information from files that are uploaded in Inspera, you should also avoid using your own name in the file name itself. Use subject code and candidate number instead.

Procedure for saving the exam answer as a PDF file

Answer directly in Inspera

On a home exam/submission where you have to write your answers directly into Inspera, the text/answers will be saved automatically. In such an exam, there can be different task types in Inspera, for example short or long text answers with or without a text editor/spell check, multiple choice (one answer/multiple answers) or filling in text/numbers.
