The deadline for nominations is 9 October 2023

The award is presented annually and goes to one or more initiatives that have been implemented and carried out by one or more academic group(s) within one or more study environments at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. The funds (which in previous years have been around NOK 100,000) are to be used to further develop the initiative that is the basis for the award and must be used by the end of the following year. The award is presented at the university's annual celebration. The award includes a certificate. The faculty reports on the use of the funds in its annual report.

Nominate yourself and your academic community, or others who deserve it!

Each autumn, the award is announced, and you are encouraged to nominate yourself, an academic community, a student environment, a study programme or a colleague who you believe has done an especially good job with their teaching approach or has contributed to improving the quality of teaching — and who deserves some extra recognition.

Proposals for candidates

Students and staff at INN can propose study environments/academic groups within one or more study environments as candidates for the award. The proposal must demonstrate how the initiative meets the above criteria. It should include a description, evaluation, and documentation of the initiative and its achieved results. Furthermore, the proposal should outline how the initiative can be further developed and how the results can be utilised by others across different fields and institutions.

What characterises the initiatives of previous winners of the Education Quality Award?

  • The initiative has been innovative and of a lasting nature, significantly contributing to the development and improvement of education quality.
  • The initiative has been implemented through active collaboration between students, staff, and other relevant stakeholders. Student involvement in the initiative has been detailed in the nomination.
  • The initiative has been knowledge-based.
  • The initiative has had transferable value to other study environments.

Committee for the Education Quality Award

The Education Quality Award is granted by a committee that is appointed annually by the rector. The suggested composition is as follows:

  • Chairman of the Learning Environment Committee (Chair of the Committee)
  • Chairman of StInn
  • Pro-rector for education
  • Two members from the University Board, including one student and one external member
  • One employee in a UF position

What should the nomination look like, and where do you submit it?

There are no formal requirements for the format of the nomination, but it is expected that the nomination addresses the criteria listed in the statutes.

Nomination deadline

The deadline for nominations is established in the statutes for the Education Quality Award each year and is typically set for early October.

The Education Department at the university handles the processing of nominations. Proposals for candidates should be sent to postmottak@inn.no by the announced deadline.
