Ingeborg Lunde Vestad is professor in the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies. She holds a PhD in musicology from the Department of Musicology, University of Oslo. Her research interests include children’s music cultures, children’s television music, and the history of children’s music. Vestad is currently researching children’s media-musical culture in Norway since World War II, as part of the research project DYNAMUS - The social dynamics of musical upbringing and schooling in the Norwegian welfare state, funded by the Norwegian research Council (FRIPRO). She is currently the co-editor of a book on gender perspectives in Scandinavian music education (Routledge, ISME series), together with her colleagues associate professor Silje Valde Onsrud (HVL) and professor Hilde Blix (UiT).
