I am working on my PhD project under a preliminary working title of 'experiences in sustainable tourism development - through tourism co-design' . As the title implies are my research interests within the areas of sustainable tourism development and what makes meaningfull and unique experiences - although not merely as evaluated from a tourist perspective. I aim to bring forth both innovative understanding and change through methods of participatory inquiry and tourism co-design. As part of my research I am actively involved in the norwegian research project 'sustainable experiences in tourism' and the danish research project 'Innovation in Coastal Tourism'.
I have a four-year position and is responsible for a course in Service Logic and some supervision with students writing their bachelor theses. Educating tomorrow’s practitioners in tourism is thus also a key interest.
I am a 28-year-old Dane who moved to Norway and started as a PhD candidate here in september, 2017. After high school, an intended gap year turned into four years of making good and memorable experiences with hotel- and conference guests as a front desk receptionist and coordinator. This led me to acquire my bachelor in Business Administration and Service Management from Copenhagen Business School. In an optimistic quest for better futures through sustainable tourism development and interests in innovative approaches hereto, I gained my master degree in International Tourism & Leisure Management from the University of Southern Denmark. During my Master studies I had an internship where I assisted in a master-degree course in sustainable tourism development and after graduation I worked as a research assistant and facilitated two introductory courses in academic practice and philosophy of science for tourism master students.
