INCLUSIVE TEACHER EDUCATION
NORDIC WORKING SEMINAR AT OSLO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, GARDERMOEN
Overall aim:To implement more inclusive cultures, policies and practices in teacher education in the Nordic countries.
Background: On the final conference of the European Agency (EA) project Teacher Education for Inclusion (TE4I) http://www.european-agency.org/agency-projects/teacher-education-for-inclusion in Brussels in the beginning of March a joint initiative was agreed between the Nordic representatives to follow up implementation in our countries.
Aim of the seminar:To inspire partners in teacher education in the Nordic countries to find measures for developing more inclusively in their own institutions and in teacher education in general in their country.
How can the Nordic representatives in TE4I – along with other partners in their countries – work to ensure that efforts are taken to move inclusion in teacher education forward?
Target group: (20- 30 participants from each country)
1. Key persons on national level concerning teacher education in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
2. Persons representing relevant European/international projects in Nordic countries, e.g.:
TE4I, Teacher education for diversity (OECD), European Commission (‘peer learning activities’ on the professional development of teacher educators), European Council: Diversity and inclusion: challenges for teacher education
3. Representatives from teacher education institutions in each Nordic country.
In advance each country sends a two-page information about their country’s teacher education today and challenges relevant for the theme in question: diversity, inclusion and peer learning (cf. country information on the TE4I internet pages).
