What to prepare
Please contact the appropriate campus if you have questions about the required documents.
Additional documents
You might be required to submit additional documents than listed here. If so, the International Coordinator at the University of Inland Norway (INN) will inform you directly.
Course selection form - Students on Erasmus+/SEMP/EEA/NORWAY grant
INN's Erasmus code (all campuses): N ELVERUM02
The course application document must be signed by yourself and your home institution. Choose among one of the three options below:
- (Preferred option) Online Learning Agreement (OLA). This version must be submitted on the digital platform used by your home institution.
- Learning Agreement from the home institution (LA) must be submitted with the application.
- INN's Erasmus+ Learning Agreement (LA) must be submitted with the application.
INN does not sign any Learning Agreements or Online Learning Agreements before the application deadline. For the application, the LA/OLA must be signed by you and your home institution.
If you experience difficulties having the document ready within the deadline, reach out to the International Office.
Additional information regarding the OLA
Please check with your home institution whether or not they use the OLA option. If they do, they will guide you to the system you can use to create the OLA. If you cannot submit the OLA within the application deadline, please inform us by email.
- When you create your OLA, look up our institution with either the Erasmus code "N ELVERUM02" or our Norwegian name, "Høgskolen i Innlandet" or "Universitetet i Innlandet."
- Please set the "Responsible person at INN" as the international coordinator for your campus/faculty. This is the person from whom you received the application information email.
Course selection form - Students from our partners outside of Europe
INN does not sign any Learning Agreements before the application deadline. To apply for courses, please use the Learning Agreement - Bilateral Agreements and apply for a minimum of 30 ECTS per semester.
There are two versions of this document:
- For students using Microsoft Word: Learning Agreement - Bilateral (Word)
- This version allows you to use the drop-down lists in the document.
- For students not using Microsoft Word: Learning Agreement - Bilateral (not Word)
- This version allows you to write text where the first version uses drop-down lists. This format is suitable for students using Google Docs or similar.
The document must be signed by yourself and your home institution and submitted with your online application.
If you experience difficulties having the document ready within the deadline, reach out to the International Office.
Changes to the approved Learning Agreement
If the Learning Agreement has been accepted by all three parties (the student, the home institution and INN), and you need to make changes, you need to upload a new Learning Agreement or use our "Learning Agreement - Changes" option.
There are two versions of this document:
- For students using Microsoft Word: Learning Agreement - Changes - Bilateral (Word)
- This version allows you to use the drop-down lists in the document.
- For students not using Microsoft Word: Learning Agreement - Changes - Bilateral (not Word)

ID card or passport
EU/EEA citizens
Prepare a copy of your ID card or your passport.
- The ID card or passport must be valid for 3-6 months beyond the planned stay.
- If one or both have expired or will soon expire, order a new version and notify the International Office. Then, upload the current version to the application form.
- If you are a German citizen, your sex (gender) is not stated on your ID card. If you submit your ID card, you will be asked to submit your passport or birth certificate.
Non-EU/EEA citizens
Prepare a copy of your passport.
- The passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the planned stay.
- If it has expired or will expire, order a new one and notify the International Office. Upload the current version to the application form.
Proof of insurance
You must prepare a copy of your health insurance in English which covers your entire planned stay. INN does not provide insurance. Therefore, you must check what your home institution, insurance company, or others offer.
Please ensure your insurance fits your needs and check what it does not cover. Do you plan on skiing, mountain climbing, or other extreme sports? Is that included in your current insurance? If not, you will need additional insurance.
If necessary, the proof of insurance can be submitted after the application deadline. If you experience any delays, make sure to inform the International Office.
Specific information for EU/EEA citizens
EU/EEA citizens can submit the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). It can be in the standard language of your country. It is not required to be in English.
This card might be on your physical insurance card's front or back side. Please check what applies to you. A physical copy of the EHIC card is highly recommended for travel abroad. If your EHIC card has expired or will soon expire, order a new one and notify the International Office. Upload the current version to the application form.
The EHIC card has various names per country, such as:
- Germany: Europäische Krankenversicherungskarte.
- France: Carte européenne d’assurance maladie.
- The Netherlands: Europese gezondheidskaart.
- Poland: Europejską Kartą Ubezpieczenia Zdrowotnego.
Proof of language proficiency
This applies only to non-EU/EEA citizens from our partners outside of Europe. Exemptions to the submission apply to:
- Native English-speaking students, such as citizens of the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Great Britain and other countries.
- Nominated students from our Erasmus+, SEMP and other European partners, which we expect to have a good command of English, with a minimum level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

If you believe you qualify for elite sports status, please inform us in the "Special needs" field of the online application. Information on elite sports status is also available on our webpage.
We will contact you directly to request further information about your request and to inform you how and when to apply.
Physical/other disabilities

Be aware that arrangements you would have at your home institution are not guaranteed at INN and depend on what can be facilitated here. For example, changing a digital school exam from essay to multiple choice is impossible. However, receiving extended time during an exam, and other facilitation is possible.
This is a separate application that must be submitted after arriving at your campus of study. You must add documentation in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, or English to the application. Such documentation must be arranged by yourself before arrival.
Detailed information on special exam arrangements can be found on the Exam Office's webpages.
