Mål for prosjektet

The purpose of this project is to develop, implement, and evaluate a targeted and tailored employment preparation scheme (AFT) for young people aged 18-30 who are interested in gaming and belong to the category of 'Not in Employment, Education, or Training' (NEET).

The initiative will actively use video games, and the participants in the project will help shape its content. By engaging participants in an environment where they experience being competent and secure, as well as utilising their skills and allowing them to influence the design of their own employment preparation scheme (AFT), the ambition is to raise participants' awareness of their own competencies and skills, and to highlight relevant career opportunities.

The project is forward-thinking, original, and innovative. While there have been some previous attempts to apply skills and competencies from video gaming to the job market, the combination of career guidance and game research within the framework of AFT has been scarcely tested and studied. The project will contribute to mapping out which approaches and methods resonate with this target group and are effective in increasing participation in education, employment, and activity.

Preliminary findings

Data has been collected through observations, logs, and interviews throughout the project. The data is still being processed, but preliminary findings indicate that creating a community of interest focused on gaming has provided a strong platform for the development of career competencies.
