The book 'Research Methods in Contract Law and Scholarship' is published by the renowned publisher Edward Elgar Publishing and was launched at the University of Oslo in mid-September. Since its release, the book has received positive reviews in international circles.

The book provides a broad overview of research methods in modern contract law and embraces interdisciplinary perspectives. Even more experimental methods find their place alongside empirical approaches.

"We do not aim to give hegemony to one approach over another, but rather to open up the field to a wide range of viewpoints and mindsets," says Professor Yuliya Chernykh. "One of the book’s goals is to help readers understand the breadth of possible approaches to contract law research, as well as the advantages and limitations of each. We believe this will help expand the field further."

Yuliya Chernykh is a Professor of Law at the University of Inland Norway. Originally from Ukraine, she has had a diverse international career before joining the University of Inland Norway in Lillehammer.

Chernykh is a versatile and prolific researcher who also teaches in the Bachelor of Laws program and has organized numerous seminars that bring academics from around the world to Lillehammer. She also holds a position as Associate Professor II at the University of Oslo.

The book was launched during a seminar at the University of Oslo, where several of the authors presented their chapters, and one of Norway's most distinguished law professors, Mads Andenæs, together with Yuliya Chernykh, presented and discussed the book as a whole.

Since its release, the book has received reviews from around the world. For example, Jean Ho from the National University of Singapore writes:

"A timely collection of essays on the immensely important but oft-neglected area of research methodologies in comparative contract law and contract theory. In thirteen distinctive and compelling chapters, the editors and authors walk the reader through a kaleidoscope of perspectives on traditional and non-traditional contracts and contractual settings, offering something new to even the most seasoned scholars and practitioners."
