The new director will have overarching responsibility for coordinating administrative services at the University of Inland Norway (INN). She will head a newly established department for organisation and shared services, which will consolidate several administrative functions. This includes HR, IT, property management, records and information governance, and communications.

“There were several strong applicants for the position, and the University Board concluded that Stine Grønvold was the most qualified overall. She has a thorough knowledge of the organisation after many years at INN, which is a clear advantage in her new role,” says Chair of the Board, Maren Kyllingstad.

A total of 19 candidates applied for the position.

Ten years as pro-rector

Stine Grønvold holds a degree in social sciences and earned the Cand. polit. degree from the University of Tromsø. She also holds a teaching qualification and began her career as a teacher in 1996.

She started working at what was then Hedmark University College in 2009 and has been with the institution – now Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences – ever since, except for a year when she served as rector in Elverum Municipality in 2014/15. She has held the position of pro-rector for education since 2015, initially at Hedmark University College, and later at INN.

“Stine Grønvold has been a driving force in our institutional development over many years. I know her as a unifying leader who gets things done. I am pleased she has been offered the opportunity to continue in such a central role,” says Rector Peer Jacob Svenkerud.

New department from 1 August

The new Department of Organisation at INN will be formally established on 1 August. The department is an important initiative intended to improve coordination among administrative units and functions, while also reducing the rector’s span of control.

“INN aims to be a forward-looking and robust educational institution with high quality standards. I am motivated to take on this new role as Director of Organisation, with responsibility for ensuring high-quality administrative services. I want to work systematically to ensure that our services are underpinned by clear understanding of roles, predictability, and good processes for developing our services,” says Stine Grønvold.
