Applying for university accreditation after the summer

INN University will not send a new application for university accreditation until the autumn.

Can INN University call itself “University” in Norwegian as well by 2023? Rector Peer Jacob Svenkerud believes so.

“There is nothing dramatic to this. The ambition has been to apply before the summer, but I have always said that we will only send the application when we consider it to be good enough,” says Rector Peer Jacob Svenkerud.

The Rector has notified INN University Board that they should not expect to have the case considered until the end of August at the earliest.

“The reason is that we need a little more time than expected to complete the application, especially the work of describing the various PhD areas. This is about us having an application that is as well quality-assured as possible,” says Peer Jacob.

The Rector says that the delay does not mean that the institution is struggling to correct the shortcomings that Nokut's expert committee pointed out when INN University had its first university accreditation application rejected in 2020.
