“King Harald has meant a great deal to many people, regardless of their views on the monarchy as a form of government,” he says.

The coming days will be marked by a period of national mourning. The university will follow national guidelines regarding the flying of flags and commemorative observances during this period.

The university will proceed with scheduled teaching activities as normal, in accordance with national guidance issued by the government. Students should attend classes according to the published timetable and will be informed of any changes in the days ahead.

“Research activities, administrative services and other university operations will also, as a general rule, continue as normal. At the same time, we will show respect for the national observance and make adjustments if necessary,” says Peer Jacob Svenkerud.
