Democracy is under attack in Europe. It also has major consequences for research and educational institutions, primarily in Ukraine, but also in other countries directly affected by the war.
INN University has mapped travel movements among students and staff. There are currently no registered students in Ukraine or from Ukraine. The International Office has an overview and contact with our students who are in Russia or neighbouring countries that are directly or indirectly affected by the war.
INN University has set central crisis staff and is following the situation closely. It has been decided that no new cooperation projects will be entered into with Russia as of now. INN University is otherwise awaiting guidelines on how we should relate to existing collaborations. Employees or students shall not travel to countries that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against entering.
Dramatic times are also marked digitally. All employees and students are therefore encouraged to be especially vigilant in terms of cyber-attacks, and to have a low threshold for responding and notifying the IT department.

If you need someone to talk to, you can contact the following:
- SINN: psychologists, student coordinators.
- Student chaplains at INN University. If you are worried or scared and need to talk to someone, contact INN University's student chaplains. The student chaplains have a duty of confidentiality, and the service is free.
Otherwise, we remind you of INN University's routines for safety abroad:
- Fill in the Declaration of Personal Information form. If the information you have provided in the information form has changed, you must inform the international coordinator at your campus about the changes.
- Go to reiseegistrering.no and register where you are on an exchange.

Regarding conditions that may affect the working situation, contact your immediate superior.
The Ministry of Education and Research’s special envoy at the embassy in Moscow follows up all Norwegian citizens who are in Russia and who the embassy is aware of, in line with the system for consular assistance. One should not hesitate to contact the embassy in case of need for advice and guidance.
