Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe is the EU's framework programme for research and innovation (2021-2027). Its objective is to strengthen Europe's innovation capacity and competitiveness, create more jobs, address climate challenges and contribute to achieving the UN's sustainable development goals.
The programme is divided into three parts, or pillars:
-
Excellent Science
Funding for groundbreaking and curiosity-driven research. Opportunities for networking and exchange exist through the fellowship scheme Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). The European Research Counsil (ERC) aims to promote high-quality research by funding the best researchers and ideas. Relevant calls are published on the EU's application portal.
-
Global Challenges and Industrial Competitivenes
Funding for large and complex collaborative projects involving industry, public actors and academia to address societal challenges and enhance value creation. Research and innovation activities will be conducted within and across six clusters:
-
Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment
-
Calls for proposals under pillar 2 can be found on the EU's application portal.
-
Innovative Europe
The aim is to fund pioneering or innovative projects with the potential to create new markets. Keep an eye on calls in the EU's application portal.
