Questions about semester start for online study programmes

New online students will find answers to many of their questions here.

About the semester start

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from online students about the start of their studies:

What is semester registration?

All students must register for the semester every term. Semester registration consists of both confirming your education plan and paying the semester fee.

Once you have been admitted to a study programme with us and have accepted the offer of a place, you will receive an email containing information about semester registration, the semester fee, and the activation of your user account. You will receive this email after 16 July.

Please note that online studies begin in mid-August; it is therefore important to complete your semester registration as soon as you receive the email from us.

Where and when can I find the schedule for digital sessions in my study programme?

Once you have registered for the semester, log in to "My schedule" to view your personal timetable, including the times for digital sessions during the current semester.

The timetable for the fall semester is normally published on 1 July, and the timetable for the spring semester is normally published on 1 December.

We also post a direct link to the timetables on the course pages for online study programmes as soon as the fall dates are finalized (no later than 1 July).

How do I register for courses?

Registration for classes and exams for the courses you are taking in the fall happens automatically when you confirm your education plan during semester registration in Studentweb.

Students must withdraw from exams themselves via Studentweb.

Should I participate in anything related to the start of my studies?

Many of the online study programmes include digital introductory sessions. You will find the date, time, and relevant information in the programme descriptions as soon as the dates are confirmed (by 1 July at the latest).

Check the programme description for your specific course for information regarding any introductory sessions.

Are the sessions video-recorded?

Digital sessions are normally not recorded.

You are therefore encouraged to participate, as you would miss an important part of the course instruction and could also miss out on important information.

Where can I find my reading lists, and where do I order my course materials?

What is Canvas?

Canvas is the learning platform for all students and staff at INN University.

Canvas is where you will find the digital teaching materials for your courses. This is also where links to real-time digital sessions will be posted.

Can I download the Office suite?

Our students can download Microsoft 365, which includes the Office suite featuring Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.
