The police have announced that the detonation of the old bomb found at the Terningmoen camp is planned for the night leading into Sunday. Therefore, no further evacuation of Terningen Arena is expected on Thursday or Friday.

Due to adjustments in activities, students must check the learning platform Canvas for information on what applies to different student groups on Friday. Information about any potential impacts on teaching and other activities after the weekend will also be posted there.

Staff can work at the campus as usual tomorrow. Information regarding Monday will be published over the weekend.

The campus in Elverum has reopened again

The police have once again lifted the evacuation of Terningen Arena. The building will be open to students and staff on Thursday but may be closed at short notice.

The University of Inland Norway has adjusted parts of the teaching and other activities in Terningen Arena on Thursday. Students must check the learning platform Canvas for messages relevant to their specific study programme.

Staff can attend work as usual but should be prepared to leave the building earlier than planned or work from home if possible.

The potential closure of a large area around the site is linked to the controlled detonation of the bomb discovered at the Terningmoen camp.

In a press release, the police stated that they are working on a plan for when and how this will take place, possibly during the night.

Classes are cancelled in Elverum

INN is cancelling classes at Terningen Arena in Elverum on Wednesday, and staff are being asked to work from home. The reason is an evacuation following the discovery of an old, unexploded bomb at the Terningmoen camp.

Digital teaching will proceed as planned if feasible.

On Tuesday, the police established a 600-metre safety zone around the discovery site, leading to the evacuation of Terningen Arena.

– The situation is still unresolved. Therefore, we have chosen to cancel teaching and ask staff to plan for remote work on Wednesday. This decision has been made to provide predictability for students and staff, says Director of Communication Tore Høyland.

During Wednesday, an assessment will be made regarding whether activities later in the week will be affected. Scheduled events include lectures, gatherings for certain study programmes, and exams.

The evacuation happened quickly, and many students and staff had to leave behind their computers and equipment. Retrieving such items will not be possible as long as the evacuation remains in effect.

There is security at the building, which will remain closed until further notice.

Terningen Arena evacuated

Terningen Arena was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon after the discovery of an old missile at the Terningmoen military camp.

Following a request from the police, it has now been decided to evacuate Terningen Arena. A decision is being considered on whether the missile discovered earlier today should be detonated.

Parts of the E25 highway are closed, but detours are signposted. It is possible to leave Terningen Arena via the road past Terningen kindergarten, connecting to the old E25 towards Hamar.

Those parked in the gravel parking area may take their cars. However, long-term parking is not accessible.

Train traffic has been temporarily halted. The Armed Forces have bomb disposal experts on site.

At 11:15 today, the police reported that an old missile was discovered during excavation work at the Terningmoen military camp. It most likely dates back to World War II.

The situation is being updated continuously. We also encourage following media reports.
