Preparing for a home exam

Before a home exam, you should prepare your own computer and get familiar with the exam system WISEflow.

Technical Requirements

A working computer and necessary software

  • Check that your computer works properly and that your software is updated before the exam. This helps avoid automatic updates while you are working.
  • Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are the recommended browsers.
  • Home exams are normally written outside of WISEflow and then uploaded. As a student at INN, you have access to Office 365, which includes Microsoft Word.
  • Exam questions are often given in PDF format, so make sure you have a program on your computer that can open/read PDF files.

Internet connection

  • Check that you have internet access at home (wired or wireless). If you are on campus, you can connect to the wireless network eduroam.

Username and Password

  • As a student, you log in to WISEflow using your Feide account. Before your exam, it is a good idea to check that your Feide account works. You can test this by logging in to WISEflow or Canvas. If you have trouble with your password, you can create a new one in the Self-Service Portal.

Get familiar with WISEflow

We recommend that you complete a demo test before your exam so you can test your computer and get to know WISEflow. The demo test FLOWassign shows what a typical home exam or submission looks like.

How to complete a demo test in WISEflow

  • Log in to WISEflow.
  • Go to Demoflows, find FLOWassign, and click Try demo.
  • Click through the steps and explore the page. Whatever you upload will not be submitted or assessed.
