What are compulsory activities
Compulsory activities are designed to ensure that you are academically qualified, contribute to the progression of your studies, and help you achieve learning objectives. Attendance can also be compulsory if participation is important for the quality of studies and learning outcomes.
Compulsory activities are assessed as "approved/not approved" and do not result in credits.
Examples of activities:
- Written assignment
- Multiple-choice test
- Compulsory attendance
- Practical exercise
Deadlines and number of attempts
The person with course responsibility provides deadlines and information about compulsory attendance on the learning platform. If you do not get a compulsory activity approved, you may get another attempt if possible. You will receive a notification about this from the person with course responsibility via email or through the learning platform. If you do not meet the deadline and do not have an extension due to illness or other welfare reasons, you will not get another attempt.
Approval
You will receive feedback on "approved/not approved" activities in the submission tool that was used. The result should also be visible in Studentweb.
Regulations on cheating
These apply to compulsory activities as well:
- The Act relating to Universities and University Colleges § 12-4
- Regulations on admission, studies, and exams § 9-1
In group work, all group members are responsible for the content.
Signing attendance lists on behalf of others is considered dishonest behavior both for the person signing and the person being signed for.
Group work
All members must actively participate in the group work. If a group member cannot contribute adequately, or if the collaboration within the group is not functioning, the group members and the person with course responsibility must be informed. The person with course responsibility should help resolve the group's issues.
Exemption
If you postpone an exam or retake it later, previously approved compulsory activities may still be valid, provided the course has not changed significantly. You must check yourself that previously approved activities are registered in the Studentweb.
Appeal
There is no right to appeal the assessment of a compulsory activity. The student can appeal the decision of loss of examination rights as a result of a compulsory activity not being approved according to the Public Administration Act section 28. The deadline for appeal is three weeks from the point of time the decision has been communicated to the party, cf. Public Administration Act section 29.
