Veronica Blumenthal has been working as a researcher at the Eastern Norway Research Institute (Østlandsforskning) since 2020. She works with project related to tourism, regional development, second homes and sustainability. Blumenthal holds a PhD in tourism from the Norwegian School of Hotel management, University of Stavanger. Her thesis was titled: "Immersive experiences in the context of managed visitor attractions".
Her educational background also includes a bachelor’s degree in tourism management from Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN), and a master’s degree in nature-based tourism from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).
Blumenthal has broad international experience, having worked and studied in several different countries, including New Zealand, The Netherlands and Denmark. She has several years of experience from working with marketing in the tourism sector and is an active research communicator, with a burning passion for high-quality research dissemination.
