Postdoctoral fellowships in Science and Society
Two fellowships are offered by the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
The fellowships
1. Science Fellowship (One Year)
Funded by the Rita Allen Foundation, this fellowship focuses on civic science. The successful candidate will conduct a landscape analysis of civic science initiatives in South Africa and develop relevant case studies and teaching materials. Civic science is an expanding field dedicated to co-creating a future where science, technology, and innovation are inclusive and accessible to all.
2. Public Engagement with the Social Sciences and Humanities Fellowship (14 Months)
Supported by the Stellenbosch University Rector’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme, this fellowship will explore how research in the social sciences and humanities is communicated and shared with broader society. The fellow will contribute to an emerging research agenda on public engagement with science beyond the natural sciences.
