Fire safety for students
Do you know what to do if a fire breaks out while you are at campus? Here, you will find information about evacuation, assembly points, and fire safety in general.
Ensure that you are well-acquainted with buildings and exits where you are located. In every building, there are posters demonstrating the location of exits and extinguishers. Below, you will see what you should do if a fire occurs.
The most important actions are to alert and rescue. You must assess whether you should take the time to extinguish and limit the fire.
Alert
Call 110 and activate the fire alarm.
Evacuate and rescue
Exit via the nearest smoke-free escape route; do not use the lift.
Assist those who need help.
Move away from the building.
Anyone in a leadership role during an event or teaching situation is expected to lead in an evacuation situation.
Extinguish
Extinguish the fire if you can.
Do not put yourself in danger; the smoke is extremely toxic.
Contain
Close doors and windows.
Inform
If you have important information, inform the emergency services (110) or security personnel at your study/workplace.
Assembly point at Blæstad
The assembly point is located in the centre of the courtyard by the flagpole.
Assembly point at Elverum
The assembly point is located by the large pine tree near the entrance driveway to the main entrance.
Assembly point at Evenstad
At Evenstad, the assembly point is located by the large parking area near the main building.
Assembly point at Hamar
The assembly point at Hamar is located by the handball court/employee parking area above the K-building.
Assembly point at Kongsvinger
The assembly point is in front of the main entrance to the university centre.
Assembly points at Lillehammer
At the Lillehammer campus, you will find assembly points at the following locations:
- Plan 1 Car park Nord
- Plan 1 Car park by the Film School
- Plan 1 Outside Studenten
- Plan 2 Car park by the goods reception
- Plan 3 Outside auditorium B
- Plan 4 Outside the main entrance
- Outside the dormitory (Internatet)
- Outside Gamlebygget (the old building)
- Car park at Nyhove
Assembly point at Rena
The assembly point is in the car park by the delivery stairs.
