Why did you choose this institution?

When I was given the opportunity to attend Career Days, I saw it as a good opportunity to learn more about the career opportunities available after completing a PhD. I therefore chose to travel to the University of A Coruña.

What have you learned and done during your stay?

I learned more about Spanish culture and about interesting projects outside my own field. Throughout the stay, I was inspired by discussing ideas with and listening to other PhD candidates, and I returned home with many thoughts and ideas for my own project.

During the stay, we visited several research centres where they presented the work being carried out there. Employers also gave presentations about their organisations and the opportunities available to PhD candidates after completing their PhD. We also had the opportunity to experience Spanish culture through a city tour of A Coruña and the San Juan bonfire celebrations.

Is there anything you would like to bring back to INN after your stay?

The career opportunities in A Coruña are something I would like to share with my colleagues, whether they are interested in pursuing a postdoctoral position or other types of employment outside academia.
