Law: international guest lecturers
This autumn, two guest lecturers are coming to visit INN through the Erasmus+ programme. They are teaching the courses 'Introduction to Comparative Law and Legal Cultures' and 'Public International Law'.
Elena Judova
8-10 September: Introduction to Comparative Law and Legal Cultures
Elena Judova is an associated professor at the Faculty of Law of University of Matej Bel in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. She teaches Private International Law, International Civil Procedure and Comparative Law. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava in 1997. In 2003 she successfully completed her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law of University of Matej Bel. She undertook study stays at universities in France and Belgium, as well as at the Hague Academy of International Law. She delivered lectures at several universities in France, Poland and Czech Republic. She is a member of the Slovak Society of International Law and the author and co-author of three monographs and more than 50 articles in Slovak and English language.
John Dingfelder Stone
20-24 October: Introduction to Comparative Law and Legal Cultures, Public International Law
Prof. Dr. iur. John Dingfelder Stone is a Texas-born legal scholar with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., J.D.), the University of Nottingham (LL.M.), and the Universität Hamburg (Dr. iur). A former Assistant District Attorney in Texas, he later taught at Universität Mainz in Germersheim and the Universität Heidelberg. He was a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law and later at the Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law, where he supported capacity building programs in countries including Jordan, Sudan, South Sudan, and Somalia. He has been a Professor of Law at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences since 2015.
