Welcome to Comenius Autumn Meeting 2026!
We are delighted to welcome you to the University of Inland Norway.
As our name suggests, we are located inland. While we cannot offer ocean views or dramatic fjords from the conference venue, we can offer beautiful lakes, forests, mountains, excellent colleagues, and—if history is any guide—a great deal of engaging conversation about teacher education.
Over the coming days, we hope you will find inspiration, strengthen existing partnerships, develop new ones, and enjoy the unique combination of professional exchange and friendship that has always characterised the Comenius network.
Thank you for joining us in Hamar and for being part of this community. We are delighted to welcome you to Hamar, to the University of Inland Norway, and to Comenius Autumn Meeting 2026. We hope you leave with new ideas, new partnerships, and perhaps even a new appreciation for Norway beyond the fjords.

What to see and do in Hamar
Hamar offers a range of activities and experiences, combining historic and modern architecture with green spaces, cafés, restaurants and views of Lake Mjøsa.
Along Strandgata and around Strandgateparken, you’ll find several cafés and restaurants. The newly developed Mjøsfronten, including the promenade and Skibladnerbrygga, offers views across Lake Mjøsa and the chance to hear Hamar’s carillon. Nearby Koigen is a popular recreational area by the lake and home to the city’s much-talked-about diving tower.
For a Nordic experience, FLOAT is a floating sauna close to the city centre, with the option of a dip in Mjøsa (booking in advance).
Matkvartalet brings several different eateries together under one roof. For those interested in shopping, CC Stadion, one of the region’s largest shopping centres, is within walking distance of the city centre.
