From Monday, 31 August to Friday, 4 September, the Scandic Hamar will host leading researchers, conservationists, and grouse enthusiasts from around the world.
Throughout the week, the program will feature presentations, poster sessions, and a field trip for all participants to Finnskogen. One day will be dedicated specifically to grouse research and conservation from a Nordic perspective.
We are proud to announce our keynote speakers:
- Kathy Martin (University of British Columbia)
- Michael A. Schroeder (Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife)
- Erlend Birkeland Nilsen (Nord University and NINA)
Following the symposium, two optional post-conference field excursions will be offered to Jotunheimen and Lierne.
The call for abstracts for the 16th International Grouse Symposium is open until 19 March 2026. The symposium welcomes abstracts covering all aspects of grouse research and management.
Wildlife Biology Journal will be the scientific outlet for the symposium.
