Our competence programmes are based on and further develop knowledge about how individuals and organisations learn. The aim is always to enhance action and change competencies for the future workplace. For individual learners, the following are important:
- Active participation and problem-solving in relevant cases, tasks, or activities
- Reflection on one’s own learning and dialogue in process-oriented activities
- Applying experiences across learning arenas, spanning workplace, family, and leisure
- Structured learning pathways with clear goals and milestones, providing a sense of progression and relevance
- Commitment to knowledge-building: progressing, seeking shared understanding, and expanding one’s own and others’ frameworks of understanding
Current research areas
Our goal is to develop deeper knowledge of the factors affecting learning, including:
- What promotes or hinders learning for individuals and within organisations
- How technology creates new opportunities and can support learning by fostering communication, knowledge-building, reflection, and metacognition
- Learning and competence development within organisations
- Learning and competence development in more informal settings and arenas
- Development of learning and information materials in the form of digital resources
- Pedagogical and didactic planning and implementation
We evaluate all courses, study programmes, and projects because we are committed to continuous competence development. Evaluations provide insight into whether study models, course content, and learning resources are perceived as relevant by students and clients.
