Arrival at the campuses

At this page you will find informastion how to travel to and from our campuses.

Our campuses and teaching locations can be reached by train, bus and car. We encourage people to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible. There are a limited number of parking spaces at the campuses and each campus has its own parking regulations. See parking information

Blæstad

For trains, visit Vy


By bus: There is a bus connection from/to both Hamar and Elverum. The bus stop closest to Blæstad is called Vang sentral.


By train: Take the train to Hamar Station, and then a bus from there.


By car: From Hamar: Follow Highway 25 towards Elverum. There is a signposted exit to Blæstad after approximately 8 km. From Elverum: Follow Highway 25 towards Hamar. There is a signposted exit to Blæstad after approximately 23 km.
 

Elverum

Evenstad

By train: From Oslo via Hamar, or from Trondheim via Røros to Evenstad Station. Remember to tell the conductor to stop at Evenstad!


By bus: The bus connections are not very good. There is a school bus that runs between Koppang and Rena on school days.


By car: Evenstad is located along Highway 3 in Østerdalen valley, 70 km north of Elverum, 20 km south of Koppang, 120 km south of Tynset.


From Oslo: (200 km and approximately 3 hours) drive along the E6 towards Trondheim. After approximately 100 km and just before Stange, exit onto Highway 3 towards Elverum. You then turn off towards Tynset (still on Highway 3) at Elgstua just before Elverum. Evenstad is located approximately 30 km north of Rena, 15 minutes after the 60 km/h zone at Opphus you will see the wooden bridge over the River Glomma. Turn right over the bridge and take the first exit on the left.


From Trondheim: (290 km and approximately 4 hours and 30 mins), drive south along the E6 and exit onto Highway 3 towards Tynset. There are about 20 minutes left of the journey when you see the Tiur’n Kro at Koppang. After the 60 km/h zone at Mykleby, there is approximately 800 m to the exit leading to Evenstad. Turn left over the bridge. The university is located along the first exit on the left after the bridge.
 

Hamar

For trains, visit Vy


By train: It takes an hour by train from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Hamar. It is a 5-minute walk from the train station to get to INN University Hamar Campus on Holsetgata 31. You can walk along Torggata and then turn right onto Seminargata. You then arrive at the campus next to Midtbyen school. 
By bus: If you are taking the bus, the nearest bus stop is Sykehuset Skolegata. Bus route 170 stops there.


By car: 

  • Arrival from the south: Exit the E6 when you see the Elverum and Hamar sign. Follow Vangsvegen to Østre gate. The university is located at the top of Østre gate.
  • Arrival from the north: Exit at Åkersvika junction and follow the sign towards Elverum and Hamar. Follow Highway 25, then turn onto Vangsvegen and follow this road to Østre gate. The university is located at the top of Østre gate.
  • Arrival from the East: If you arriving from the east along Highway 25, follow signs for Hamar. Continue on Highway 25 (Vangsvegen). Turn right onto Østre gate. The university is located at the top of Østre gate.
     

Kongsvinger

Visiting address: Strandvegen 3, 2212 Kongsvinger


By car: If you take the E16 from Oslo or Highway 2 from Elverum, follow the E16 signs towards the hospital over Gjemselund bridge. Then turn left at the first roundabout, and right at the second roundabout. Follow Eidemsgate and turn right at the roundabout. After a few meters, turn left onto Markensvegen and then right onto Strandvegen where you will find the University Centre.


By train: If you have arrived by train, walk across Kongsvinger Bridge and follow the promenade until you see the University Centre on the left. The walk takes approximately 15 mins.
 

Lillehammer

By train: If you take the train to Lillehammer you will arrive at Lillehammer train station. From here, you can take buss number B1, B2 or B4. An alternative could be arrival by either taxi, bike or walking. A walk from Lillehammer train station to the campus will take approximately one hour. A bike ride will take about 20 minutes. For information and train-tickets visit Vy

 

By car: Arrival from the south by E6: Take exit number 83 and follow the signs to Storhove. Storhove is your main destination.

Oslo

Rena

By train: Rena Station is located in the middle of the city centre and 700 metres from the university.
 

Tynset

Visiting address: Fedraheimveien 1, 2500 Tynset


By car: If you arrive by car from the south or the north via Highway 3, follow the signs to Tynset town centre or follow Ringveien towards Tylldal/Rendalen. Right next to a large roundabout and before you drive out of the city centre, you will see Tynset University Centre on your left-hand side together with Nord-Østerdal Upper Secondary School.


By train: If you have arrived by train, follow the road up the hill to the left of the municipal building. Continue along Ringveien for approximately 200 metres until you reach a roundabout. Tynset University Centre is located in the large building together with Nord-Østerdal Upper Secondary School, right next to the roundabout.
